Annie Herpin Castille, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on April 27, 1936, in Kaplan, Louisiana, to the late Sava and Albertine Dupont Herpin.
Annie lived a long and beautiful life rooted in faith, love, and family.
Raised in a strong Catholic home, Annie’s unwavering faith guided her every step. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, where her presence and prayers were a quiet strength to those who knew her.
Annie was the devoted wife and life partner of Earl Castille. Together, they built both a family and a business—Earl Castille Paint and Body. Annie worked tirelessly beside Earl every day. Mornings began with coffee and breakfast, followed by hours helping in the shop, then breaking to cook lunch, before returning to assist again—all while raising their seven children with deep love and unwavering dedication.
Family was at the center of Annie’s world. She delighted in preparing Sunday lunches, where her home was filled with the aroma of her delicious cooking, the sound of laughter, and the warmth of family gathered together.
In her quieter moments, Annie found joy in the little things: watching baseball with Earl (often cheering for the team he wasn't rooting for), playing Bourrée with her card-playing friends, and, later in life, putting together puzzles.
Annie’s legacy of love, strength, and faith will live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the honor of knowing her.
She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will remain ever present in the lives of those she touched.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her children, Dale Castille and wife Yolanda; Clint Castille and wife Cathy; Rita Montet and husband Ricky and Martha Prince and Keith Martin; ten grandchildren, Brent Castille, Aubrey Castille, Brandon Castille, Alaina Castille, Crystal Dunbar, Cory Montet, Rory Castille, Jeremy Castille, Ashley Castille and Neely Castille, seventeen great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren; daughter in law, Cindy Castille and two sisters in laws, Romayne Fruge and Lynelle Menard.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Lee Castille; three sons, Robert Wayne Castille, Earl “Ricky” Castille and Ronald Lee Castille; grandson, Nicholas Castille; two sisters, Rita Mae Herpin and Sister Joan Herpin and two brothers, Msgr. Lawrence Michael Herpin and Jerome Herpin.
