

NEWELLTON, LA – A celebration of life with old friends and family will be conducted for Mrs. Annie Taylor, the former Annie Arnold, age 89, at 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Newellton, Louisiana with Brother Larry Foster officiating. Interment will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery, also in Newellton, Louisiana.
Visitation will be held in New Iberia from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Monday with a celebration of life service at 3:00 pm. Brother Travis Brice will officiate that service. Visitation will continue Tuesday at First Baptist Chruch of Newellton from 12:00 pm until service time there at 2:00 pm.
A native of Meadville, Mississippi and resident of Newellton for many years, and most recently of New Iberia, Mrs. Taylor passed away at 1:20 pm on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at her residence.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of First Baptist Church in Newellton, Louisiana for many years. In recent years she attended Trinity Baptist Church and Lighthouse Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, golfing, church and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, John David Taylor and wife Deborah of Monroe; daughters, Mary Elizabeth Brownlee and husband Mike of Baton Rouge, Peggy Brice and husband Jim of New Iberia; sister, Mary Ida Spencer of Medford, Oregon; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband James M. Taylor; son, Turkey Taylor; parents, James and Ida Arnold and eight siblings.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Taylor, Travis Brice, Michael Brownlee, John F. Taylor, Matthew Rogers and John May.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any of the following; Lighthouse Baptist Church of New Iberia, First Baptist Church of Newellton and Heart of Hospice.
