

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Barbara Charpentier Boudreaux, age 70, at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. Fr. Edward Duhon will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Mausoleum.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with the Rosary being recited at 6:30 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Tuesday from 8:00 am until services.
Barbara was born April 8, 1943 in Franklin, LA to the late Frank Charpentier, Sr. and Bernadette Lancon Charpentier, and was one of 14 children. She passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Iberia Medical Center, with her family at her side.
As a homemaker, Barbara loved the time she spent with her family. Cooking meals and baking treats for her family was something that brought great joy to her. She was the type of person to never meet a stranger, and would help anyone in need. She leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband Alcide T. Boudreaux, Sr. of New Iberia; her sons, Kenny Boudreaux of Delcambre, Karl Boudreaux and wife Sarah of New Iberia, and Tommy Boudreaux and wife Sarah of Jeanerette; 8 grandchildren, Torrie, Karl, Jr., Katie, Kimberlee, Christina, Chris and Corey Boudreaux, and Dean Bourque; two great grandchildren, Malachi and Arianna Bourque; and her brothers and sisters, Frank, Jr., R.J., Darnell, Terry, Alfred, and Edwin Charpentier, Emily Fuhrer, Mary Lee Alcina, Linda Gail Louviere, and Anna Charpentier.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Stanley, Raymond, Herman, Allen and Jerry Charpentier, Odile Thidodeaux and Gloria Marcotte.
Serving as pallbearers will be Alcide, Kenny, Karl, Tommy, Karl, Jr., and Chris Boudreaux, Alfred Charpentier, and John Boudreaux.
