

RYNELLA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Barry Phillip Hulin, age 57, at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at St. Marcellus Catholic Church. Fr. Gene Tremie will be the celebrant. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife and daughters at Broussard Cemetery, Bayou Petit Anse.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with the Rosary being recited at 6:30 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Thursday from 7:00 am until 9:30 am.
Barry was born December 19, 1956 in New Iberia to the late Chester Hulin and Doris LeBlanc Hulin. He passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at his residence.
Barry was a longtime resident of Avery Island and worked with the McIlhenny Co. for over 40 years, with his most recent position as a production analyst. In his earlier years, he was active in sports and played with traveling teams in softball. That same love of sports led him to many years of coaching and guidance with the Iberia Youth Football League and Iberia Youth Baseball League where he imparted his knowledge and love of sports on to many youths in Iberia Parish. Barry was also a member of St. Marcellus Catholic Church and a past member of the Knights of Columbus.
He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his son, Daniel Ray Hulin; his sister, Carla Hulin Migues; mother-in-law, Ruby Gunn Sharp; sister-in-law, Liz Hulin; brothers-in-law, Jerry Beard, Bobby Beard, Harold Beard, and Leonard Sharp; and his cousins, John Terrell and John Saunier, whom he looked upon as his brothers.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife and daughters, Pamela Beard Hulin, Erica Dawn Hulin and Angela Elizabeth Hulin; his brother, David Hulin; brother-in-law, Ronnie Migues; and father-in-law, Ray Sharp.
Serving as pallbearers will be John Terrell, John Saunier, Emanuel Harding, Jerry Beard, Jimmy Francisco, Mike Rose, Leonard Sharp and Patrick Castille. Joe Sam will serve as honorary pallbearer.
