NEW IBERIA - A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Beverly “Bev” Pellerin Penton, age 69, at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Fr. Garrett Savoie will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will take place at Evangeline Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Wednesday from 8:00 am until the service time.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Penton passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at University Hospital in Lafayette. She was born on October 7, 1952 in New Iberia to Lillie Mae Segura Pellerin and Alfan Joseph Pellerin.
Beverly, better known as “Bev” or “Aunt Bev”, was a kind and loving woman. She loved spending time with her family and cherished them above all else. She especially adored her grandchild as they were the light of her life. Bev was a devout Catholic and faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She attended mass regularly and believed in praying the rosary as often as possible. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend to all, Beverly will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Bev is survived by her daughter Nicole Walker Hines (Kendall); sisters, Laura Pellerin and Barbara Pellerin; daughter-in-law, Ruby Walker; grandchildren, Skyler Hines (Holli), Saige Hines, Gavin Hines (Jamie), Haven Hines, Robin Del Rosario, Elijah Walker, Elizabeth Hall, Jackson Hall (Katelyn); and great grandchildren, Hudson Hines and Stella Hall.
Bev was preceded in death by her first husband, James Walker; loving husband of 26 years, Irvin Penton; son, Jason Walker; father, Alfan Joseph Pellerin; mother, Lillie Mae Segura Pellerin; and brothers, Richard Pellerin, Sr. and Gerald Pellerin, Sr.
Serving as pallbearers are Skyler Hines, Gavin Hines, Haven Hines, Richard Pellerin, Jr., Daryl Alford, Elijah Walker, Jackson Hall, and Gerald Pellerin, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Saige Hines, Elizabeth Hall, and Hudson Hines.
