Bobby was born on December 30, 1967, in New Iberia, Louisiana, to Felix "Butch" Bourque and Christine Myers. Raised with a deep appreciation for his Cajun heritage and a love for the outdoors, Bobby embodied the values of hard work and dedication instilled in him from a young age. He pursued a career in drafting and excelled as a 3D Computer Draftsman, garnering recognition from fabrication and oilfield companies across Louisiana and Texas. His expertise in the field took him around the globe, including assignments in Japan, Egypt, and China. At the time of his passing, Bobby served as a Senior Pipe Designer with KentPLC.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bobby cherished his family and friends above all else. He epitomized the Cajun spirit of "Joie de vivre" and "Laissez les bon temps rouler," welcoming everyone into his home with open arms and ensuring they were well-fed. His love for music, particularly favorites like Boston and Journey, created the backdrop for countless gatherings and cherished memories.
An avid fisherman since childhood, Bobby shared many memorable fishing trips with his father, brothers, and friends, often culminating in fish fries that became legendary among loved ones. His passions also included golf, where he enjoyed friendly competition with his father, and as Butch said with a smile "he played good...but I played better" and gardening, showcasing his talent for growing vegetables and herbs that enriched the meals he lovingly prepared.
Bobby will be deeply missed as a loving father to Rebecca Bourque Compton (Cody), Beau Bourque (Savanah), and Joshua Jayden Bourque, a devoted grandfather to Abegail Bourque, Austin Compton, Shalyen Cook, Forrest Bourque, Ewya Bourque, and Walker Bourque; a loving son to his father Felix "Butch" Bourque (Sabrina), and his mother Christine Myers; a brother and friend to Ricky Bourque (Toni), Cody Bourque, and Jory Bourque, and Godfather to, Kellen Bourque.
Though we mourn Bobby's passing, we find solace in knowing he rests in peace, and we anticipate the joy of reuniting with him one day in eternal glory. Until then, rest well, Bobby. You are deeply loved and dearly missed.
