Clarence J. Domingue

Clarence was born June 22, 1928 in Barataria, Louisiana to the late Jean Baptiste Domingue and the late Luvinia Adams Domingue, one of ten children born to that union. At the young age of 17, Clarence joined the United States Army to serve his country during World War II.

He grew up with a strong work ethic, having fished the bayous and coastal waters from Barataria to western Louisiana. He had a career in the oilfield that spanned over 40 years that took him to various locations in Louisiana. When not working, Clarence spent his time taking advantage of the outdoors, tending to his garden, and taking spontaneous drives. He was a “jack of all trades” as his children said and he could fix and repair anything he set his mind to.

We will miss his “wise guy” attitude and will hold his memory close to our hearts. Rest well Daddy.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Donner Fontenot (Lynn), Micheal Domingue, JoyRita King (Danny), Velma Domingue and Arthur “Bill” Domingue (Sunny); his grandchildren, Tana Carlson, Lynn Fontenot, Jr., Amber Duhon, Dillon Domingue, Max Ryan Domingue, Shane King, Hope Mayon, Joey King and Stephanie Domingue; a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; his brother and sister, Simon Domingue and Viola Stevens; and his former wife and mother of his children, Theresa Domingue.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charling “Delight” Domingue; his grandson, Stephen Berard; and his sisters and brothers, Laura, Theodore, Lawrence, Valerie, Emily, Helen and Loretta.

Visiting hours will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Monday, May 15 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Following the visitation, the family will travel to Orange, Texas on Tuesday May 16 where Clarence will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery at 1:00 pm with military honors.
