Darrell Jude Guilbeaux

Loreauville – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Darrell Jude Guilbeaux at 10:00 am Thursday, August 11, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Fr. Barry Crochet, Pastor, will be the celebrant. Darrell will be laid to rest in All Saint’s Cemetery following the mass.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home in New Iberia on Wednesday from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm, with the Rosary being recited at 6:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Thursday from 8:00 until 9:30 am.

Darrell was born December 22, 1968 in Lafayette to Gloria Viator Ellender and the late Mervin J. Guilbeaux, Sr., and passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016. He was 47.

Darrell worked in the oilfield with Bagwell Bros. and in tree trimming. Some of his pastimes included caring for his roosters and collecting guns. But Darrell’s greatest love was his family, especially his only grandson, Easton. He cherished the time spent with him. Those memories will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Tristan Guilbeaux Bourque and Michael John Bourque of New Iberia; his grandson, whom he adored, Easton Layne Bourque; his mother and step-father, Gloria Viator Ellender and Warren Ellender of New Iberia; his brothers, Mervin Guilbeaux, Jr. and Wilfred Viator; and his niece and nephew, Janci and Codi Viator.

Along with his father, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Ophe’ “PaPop” Viator and Cecile Fredrick Viator.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
