

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Dennis Norris, Sr., age 82, at 1:00 pm Friday October 1, 2010 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Fr. Gary Schexnayder officiating. Interment will be held at Holy Family Cemetery with military honors by VFW Post #1982.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Thursday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Friday until service time.
A native of Coteau and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Norris passed away at 9:00 am on Wednesday September 29, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Norris was a Veteran of the United States Navy who served his country faithfully. He was a salesman in the oilfield industry for many years. His love for music led him to playing music for more than 31 years with the bands “Randy and the Rockets”, “Herb Landry and the Serenaders” and “Dennis Norris and the Dance Kings”. He loved fishing and was a diehard Saints Fan. He made a difference in many people’s lives and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Betty Constantine Norris of New Iberia; children, Johnny Norris and wife Renee’, Dennis Norris, Jr. and wife Kathy, Kathy Jordy and husband Ray, Peggy Borres and husband Allen, Rod Norris and wife Mary, Lisa Waguespack and husband Jeremy, Michelle Scott and husband Jason, Dale Norse and wife Bridget, Albert Norse and wife Miriam, and Mikeal Norse and wife Joan; grandchildren, Shaun Norris, Jodie McBride and husband Ryan, Brittney Sivyer and husband Steve, Heather Norris, Jarred Norris, Khristy Spears and husband John, Sharon Guillot and husband Joey, Dustin Jordy and wife Heather, Debra Hardy and husband Sean, Jude Borres and wife Lanie, Keri Judice and husband Mark, Lauren Norris, Stefan Norris, Jordan Norris, Ethan Norris, Casey Dugas, Karley Waguespack, Devin Waguespack, Chelsea Leleux and husband Aaron, Brook Scott, Maleigha Scott, Ian Scott, Allie Norse, Seth Norse, Adrienne Blackledge and husband Peyton, Noah Norris, Alex Norris, Sebasdtian Norse, Miya Norse, Christian Norse, Julian Norse, and Marlee Norse; and 27 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Edna Viator Norris; brother, Leroy Norris, and sister, Lula Mae Romero.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Norris, Dennis Norris, Rod Norris, Dale Norse, Albert Norse, and Mikeal Norse.
