Edias Joseph Dore Jr.

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Edias Joseph Dore, Jr., age 76, at 9:30 am on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors by LA Army National Guard Military Funeral Honors Team.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on day until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Dore passed away at 12:45 pm on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Dore was affectionately known as “Eddie” and/or “Ted” too many and can also be remembered for his painting expertise, as the owner of Dore’s Painting for 40 years. He served his country honorably in the US Army. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #3425 of New Iberia for many years and recently #7557 in Broussard.

He loved spending time with his family; and especially loved taking his grandkids fishing, going to the casino with his wife and playing Bouree’. He also loved his dog Canon.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nellian “Nell” Bourque Dore of New Iberia; one son, Keith Dore and wife Miranda of Lafayette; two daughters, Debra Dore Perez and husband Lindsay of Lydia and Jacqueline Dore Leyva of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Kaitlynne Dore; Daxx Dore; Dylan Perez; Justin Leyva and Julian Leyva; four great grandchildren, Javier Leyva; Arianna Leyva; Zailee Leyva and Kian Leyva and one sister, Geraldine Campbell and husband Elvis of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edias Joseph Dore, Sr. and Ada Thibodeaux Dore and one sister, Regina Dore.

Pallbearers will be Keith Dore, Lindsay Perez, Dylan Perez, Justin Leyva; Julian Leyva, Del Campbell and Javier Leyva.
