

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Estelle Theresa Hauser, 83, at 10:00 am Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Fr. Charles Langlois will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral home on Monday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with the Rosary being recited at 6:30 pm and led by the Third Order of Carmelites. The funeral home will reopen on Tuesday from 8:00 am until 9:30 am.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Estelle passed away peacefully on November 7, 2010. Ms. Hauser was a retired teacher and librarian with the Iberia Parish School System with 25 years of service. She received her undergraduate degree at S.L.I. (now U.L.L.) and earned a Master of Library Science degree at L.S.U.
Estelle was a devout Catholic who lived her whole life around the teachings of the Church. She served St. Peter’s Catholic Church for many years as a lector and office worker. Ms. Hauser was also a member of the Third Order of Carmelites, the Gloria Mundi Travel Club and the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association.
Estelle will be remembered by her family and friends as a kind and generous soul.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eunice Gonsoulin Hauser and Joseph O. Hauser, and her sister Dorothy Hauser.
Pallbearers will be Joey Dimarco, J. David Duplantis, David J. Duplantis, Billy Gesser, George T. Reeves, and John S. Stout.
The family would like to thank the St. Peter’s Parish Church Family and Dr. Douglas Sagrera and Staff for their loving devotion to Estelle.
