Janet Buteaux Wellbrock passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her family, at the age of 71. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, sister and sister in law. Born on March 2, 1952 in New Iberia to the late Paul and Eunice Blanchard Buteaux.
Loved ones are invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 8:00 am until 10:30 am at Evangeline Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Janet’s life will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau. Fr. Matthew Hebert will officiate at the service. Following the Mass, She will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jacob Vollmer, Gary Wellbrock, Bryan Wellbrock, Jason Wellbrock, David Laine and Oliver Buteaux. David Carlson, Tim Carlson and Keith Begnaud will be honorary pallbearers.
Janet graduated in the Class of 1970 from New Iberia Senior High School and obtained an associate degree in business from USL.
Being a mom and taking care of her family was the joy of her life. Janet will be remembered for her quiet demeanor and the love that was given to her family. She had a love for books and most definitely enjoyed reading.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 43 years. Roger A. Wellbrock; one daughter, Jenna Wellbrock Vollmer and husband Jacob; two granddaughters, Lucia Vollmer and Viviana Vollmer; one sister, Julia Landry and husband Daniel and one brother, Oliver Buteaux and wife Sharon.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her daughter, Sandy Theresa Wellbrock; her brother in law, Martin T. Wellbrock and her niece, Crystal Begnaud.
Janet’s family extends a heartfelt thanks to everyone for their prayers and ongoing support during this difficult time. We also extend a huge thank you to Marna Carlson, Gary Wellbrock and Josie Vollmer for their emotional support and guidance. Special thanks to the staff of Acadian Hospice, especially Gabi, Amanda and Georgiana.
