Judy was born in Oak Grove, a rural community in north Louisiana, to the late RJ Hale and the late Isa Jean Meeks Hale, joining nine siblings in a close-knit family. When Judy was in the 8th grade, the Hales relocated to New Iberia, Louisiana, which became their cherished home forever. After graduating from New Iberia Senior High, Judy embarked on a successful career as a legal secretary, beginning with a local attorney who recognized her talents early on. Over the years, she earned the trust and respect of many of New Iberia's finest attorneys who relied on her unwavering support in their practices.
Beyond her professional achievements, Judy found her greatest joys in family and dear friends. Together with her husband Ronald, she enjoyed travels to Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, where they cherished time with their friend Gilberto.
Judy was also a practical lady who enjoyed the simple things in life. She mowed her own yard into her later years and had a great time doing that. A manicured lawn usually meant it was time to enjoy an ice cold Blue Moon to cool down. Jill and Kristin also shared how much Judy enjoyed Saturdays with her family. Every Saturday, the entire family got together to share laughs, great company and a wonderful meal. And that was Judy's time to spoil her grandchildren with her love and undivided attention.
As much as we will miss Judy and the many wonderful times shared, we will hold those memories close to our hearts and rejoice in the promise of the resurrection and one day being reunited with her. Until that precious day, rest well Judy for you have earned your heavenly reward.
Judy is survived and deeply missed by her daughters, Jill Guillotte and Kristin Labbe; her adored granddaughters, Shelby Lynn Guillotte and Kyrstyn Nicole Guillotte; and her very first great-grandchild expected in December, Artemus Steele Garrett. She is also survived by her siblings: Mark Hale (Susan), Phillip Hale, Craig Hale, Keith Hale (Donna), Patsy Darby, Margie Amy (Dwayne), and Anita Brown (Keith), along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Judy is reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband, Ronald J. Lasseigne; her daughter, Melanie Ann Lasseigne; her granddaughter, E'milie Anne Labbe; son-in-law, Matthew James Labbe; her brother, Donald Hale; an infant brother; sister-in-law, Dolores "Petesy" Hale; and brother-in-law, Alton Darby.
Funeral services to honor Judy's life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Holy Family Chapel, officiated by Pastor Ken Wright of New Iberia Church of Christ. Following the service, Judy will be laid to rest in the mausoleum alongside her granddaughter, E'milie.
