Lenora Darbonne Richard

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Dexter Richard, the former Lenora Darbonne, age 58, at 11:00 am Friday, December 28, 2012 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Fr. Charles Langlois and Deacon Wade Broussard, Jr. will officiate at the services. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Thursday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Friday until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Richard passed away at 6:55 pm on Monday, December 24, 2012 at her residence.

Mrs. Richard was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She worked at Stein’s Superette in New Iberia for 18 years.

She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Dexter Richard; three children, Brent Richard and wife Brooke; Brock Richard and wife Debbie and Gypsey Derouen and husband Tommy Joe all of New Iberia; eight grandchildren, Mallory Richard, Cassie Richard, Gavin Richard; McKinley Laviolette, Bailey Laviolette, Aley Laviolette, Hayley Laviolette and Kyley Derouen; one brother, Ross Darbonne and wife Nita of New Iberia and one sister, Brenda Hassen and Harlan of Brookland, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her father, Herman Darbonne and her mother, Doris Broussard Vann and step father, Larry Vann.

Pallbearers will be Dexter Richard, Brent Richard, Brock Richard, Tommy Joe Derouen, Jonathan Fields and Ronnie Thibodeaux.

Gavin Richard will serve as honorary pallbearer.
