

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Antoine Myers, Sr., the former Lilly Richard, age 98, at 1:30 pm on Monday, November 7, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Fr. Mark Derise will be the celebrant for the services. Cathy Daigle and Susan Adams will be the readers and Camille Lopez and Trisha Tourney will be the gift bearers for the mass. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm on Sunday with a Rosary at 6:30 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 9:00 am on Monday until service time.
A native of Catahoula, Mrs. Lilly was raised in Loreauville, then moved to Avery Island where she resided until 1969. Mrs. Myers passed away at 8:00 am on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Consolata Nursing Home.
Mrs. Myers worked at the Avery Island Salt Mine and then later at Catholic High Cafeteria. After her retirement she and Antoine moved to New Iberia among relatives and friends. She often talked of the two of them “taking off” with no destination in mind and just enjoying their ride for the day. She was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor and a fun loving spirit.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, who will miss her dearly.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Antoine “Mike” Myers, Jr. and wife Janet of Garner, NC and Lonnie Myers and wife Bertha; two daughters, Patsy Boudoin and husband Curtis “Joe” and Deborah Vice and husband Roger all of New Iberia; eighteen grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren and one brother, Howard Richard and wife Irene of Loreauville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Antoine Myers, Sr.; two children, Henry Allen Myers and Virginia Myers Larive; grandson, Timothy Larive; Great Grandchildren, Tiffany Larive and Brandon Benoit; great great grandchild, Keely Marie Boudoin; one sister, Ledie R. Legnon; two brothers, Lester and Louis Richard and an infant brother.
Pallbearers will be Craig Myers, Joel Larive, Troy Larive, Ty Boudoin, Tait Boudoin, Stuart Vice and Grant Myers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Myers and Howard Richard.
The family would like to thank Consolata Nursing Home, AAA Hospice and Johanna Landry for all of their care, concern and compassion.
