COTEAU – Memorial funeral services celebrating the life of Louis Philip Monte, Jr., will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Fr. Ed Degeyter will be the celebrant. After the mass, Mr. Monte will be laid to rest with his parents in the church mausoleum.
Philip was born November 10, 1958 in Crowley to the late Louis Philip Monte Sr. and the late Mabel Laperous Monte and was one of 5 sons. He passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2020 at his residence in Haynesville at the age of 61.
Philip was a welder and worked in the oilfield most of his life. Outside of his work, he was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting whenever possible. Above all, he loved his family and treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren. He will be missed dearly.
Survivors include his three daughters, Amber Monte Salsman (Brian), Brittney Monte Latiola (Ellis) and Cali Monte LeBlanc (Zach); ten grandchildren, Hunter, Macie, Luke, Madalynn, Morgan, Charlie and Curtis Salsman, Ellie Latiola, and Avery and Ella LeBlanc; his brothers, Keith Monte (Debbie), Randy Monte, Mike Monte (Mary) and Mark Monte (Devin); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Molly Cate Salsman.
