Maria Adelina Funez

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm, and on Monday from 8:00 am until 10:45 am.

Maria was born September 23, 1927 in Yoro, Honduras to Eusebio Arias and Reymunda Funez, and passed away on Friday, October 28, 2011 at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

She was a homemaker who lived her life for her family. She enjoyed cooking and shared many memorable meals with family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Reino Funez and wife Lisa, Elda Marina Ortiz, Arminta Ruiz & Juan, Sonia Cruz, Roberto Cruz and wife Tammy, Orlando Funez, Excela Funez and Jhonny Funez; 39 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and her sister and brothers, Erminda Funez, Fabio Funez, Ebelio Funez, and Jose Funez.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eusebio Arias and Reymunda Funez; four children, Samuel Cruz, Antonio Cruz, Alejandro Cruz, and Samuel Cruz; and two sisters, Dionicio Hernandez and Aida Funez.

Serving as pallbearers will be Eric, Katlin, Alex, Lil Jhonny, and Noel Funez, and Miguel and Christian Cruz.
