

Marvin was born on April 4, 1942 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Marvin Andrew Solomon and Carolyn Solomon, and passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 at his residence.
Marvin was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and enjoyed attending services and Bible study with his brothers and sisters. Known as “Mr. Starman” Marvin shared his knowledge and love of Astronomy with children at the local libraries. He was also an amateur magician and often visited hospitals to entertain the children with his magic. He was a kind hearted and generous man who will be missed by all who know and loved him.
He is survived by his three children, Andrew “Andy” Solomon; Sonja Kay Solomon and James Kuhns, and Mark Christopher Solomon and Joline Solomon; five grandchildren; his beloved daughter-in-law: Michelle Solomon; two brothers, Ron Knaus and Neil Carbaugh; his brother in law, Song Chol Mun; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Song Cha Solomon, and his brother, Dana Carbaugh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marvin’s name to the Miles Perret Center, P.O. Box 80763, Lafayette, LA 70598.
