Norbert Joseph Broussard Sr.

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Norbert Joseph “A. C.” Broussard, Sr., age 85, at 11:00 am Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Derise officiating and concelebrant Fr. Barry Crochet. Interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Thursday until service time.

A native of Patoutville and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Broussard passed away at 8:35 am on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at his residence.

Norbert retired as Assistant Chief after 32 years with the New Iberia Police Department. He enjoyed gardening, trolling, and shrimping. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, Mary “Tootsie” Breland and husband Terrell of New Iberia, Emaz “Pye” Menard and husband Gerald of New Iberia, Norbert J. Broussard, Jr. and wife Judy of Coteau, and Cathy “Skeeter” Mouton and husband Tony of Coteau; grandchildren, Sean Ricks, Farrah Huval, Angie Menard, Monique Mire, Kelly Broussard, Kevin Broussard, Josh Mouton, Jake Mouton, Sarah Serrette, and Emmy Mouton; thirteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; siblings, Peggy Falgout and husband Robert of Thibodaux, Valley McGinn Sr. and wife Pat of New Iberia, Ginny Bourgeois of Shriever, and Audie Broussard of Houma; brother-in-law, Zoda Bourque, Sr. of New Iberia; and sister-in-law, Jeannie Broussard of Raceland.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Boudreaux Broussard; parents, Felix Joseph and Emaz Rita Romero Broussard; great grandson, Alex Ricks; and siblings, Gertrude Bourque and Daniel Broussard.

Pallbearers will be Sean Ricks, Kelly Broussard, Kevin Broussard, Josh Mouton, Jake Mouton, Wade Mire, and Jeremy Huval.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Segura, Gerald Boudreaux, Judge Robert Segura, Kirby Bonin, and former NIPD officers.
