

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Patsy Thibeaux “Pat” Albert, 78, at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Fr. Garrett Savoie will be the celebrant and conduct the Mass. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm, with the Rosary being recited by the CDA Court Blessed Mother Teresa. Visiting hours will resume on Tuesday from 8:00 am until 10:30 am.
Patsy was born July 5, 1936 in Erath, Louisiana to the late Ravis Thibeaux and Margaret Mergist Thibeaux, and was one of four children. She passed away peacefully on Saturday September 27, 2014 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Many will remember Patsy from the many years she served the community of New Iberia at Center Street Pharmacy. Outside of her work, she enjoyed camping, and loved bowling where she belonged to the Women’s League in New Iberia. But it was Patsy’s love for her family that was most important to her. She lived her life making sure that her family had what they needed. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Oliver Albert, Jr.; her children, Jude Albert, Cody Albert, Faith Albert Hickson (Kirk), and Mary Albert Broussard (Wendell); five grandchildren, Madison Eskind, Jordan LeBlanc, Abe Hickson, Tera Romero and Jamie Marcel; four great-grandchildren, Zack Broussard, Caleb Romero, Evan Marcel and Olivia Marcel; Her dear and longtime friends, Joyce Hebert and Lois Blanchard; and her loving dogs, JR and Jill, who brought her so much joy.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Preston Thibeaux, Sr. and Carrol James Thibeaux; her sister, Mary Falgout and her infant son, Jude Anthony Falgout; and a niece, D’Aun Thibeaux Shampine.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jude and Cody Albert, Jordan LeBlanc, Kirk Hickson, Wendell Broussard and Abe Hickson.
