NEW IBERIA- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patsy Myers Arceneaux, age 71, of New Iberia, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Patsy was born on December 19, 1953, in New Iberia to Elma Gary Myers and Armand Myers Sr.
Patsy was a simple, down-to-earth woman who found joy in the little things. Whether it was playing solitaire on her computer, chatting with family and friends, or enjoying the fresh air in her backyard, she lived her life at her own pace. Patsy had a natural curiosity about people, always eager to catch up on the latest news or share a good story. She had a soft spot for Hallmark and Lifetime movies, often watching them to unwind after a busy day. Above all, she loved her family deeply.
Patsy leaves behind her son, Donald Arceneaux Jr. (Kelly); her daughters, Angela Arceneaux (Corey) and Brandi Smith (George); her siblings, Armand Myers Jr. (Cindy), Pam M. Romero (Barry), and Sheila M. Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Patsy’s greatest joy was being with her grandchildren: Jason, Madison, Kenzie, Gage, Sage, Austin, Sierra, Brennon, and Nathan, as well as her seven great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Arceneaux Sr.; her parents, Armand and Elma Myers; and her brothers, Rickie and Roland Myers.
A visitation will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a rosary prayer at 6:00 PM. The funeral home will reopen on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 1:45 PM.
A funeral service for Patsy will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Evangeline Funeral Home, with Brother Brad Thompson officiating. Patsy will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Memorial Park Cemetery in New Iberia following the service.
Patsy’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported them during this difficult time.
Pallbearers will be Jason Arceneaux, Christopher Comeaux, Mateo Romero, Trey Myers, Gage Clark, and Brennon Hebert. Austin Arceneaux will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Rest in peace, Patsy. You’ll be missed but never forgotten.
