Peggy Broussard Dubois

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be celebrated for Mrs. Edwin Dubois, the former Peggy Broussard, age 78, at 10:00 am Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Evangeline Funeral Home. Deacon Russell Hayes will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm, with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Wednesday from 8:00 am until service time.

A native of Jefferson Island and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Dubois passed away peacefully at 4:35 pm on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Iberia Medical Center.

Peggy was a homemaker who lived her life for the love and care of her family. She leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Edwin Dubois of New Iberia; four sons, Kevin Broussard; Kerry LeBlanc and wife Mary; Blaine LeBlanc and wife Charlotte and Kirk LeBlanc; two daughters, Lisa Dubois Dugas and husband Kenneth and Patricia Dubois Bonin and husband Karl; one step son, Michael Dubois and wife Ann and three step daughters, Cindy Dubois; Sharon Lemoine and husband Bobby and Karen Meaux and husband Karl; one brother, Paul Broussard; one sister, Bonnie Guillory and husband Hampton, Jr.; twenty six grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Evie Washespark Broussard; great granddaughter, Ashley Duplantis; great grandson, Ashton Deshotel and her son in law, Terry Duplantis.

Pallbearers will be Tony Pichoff, Karl Bonin, Blaine LeBlanc, Kerry LeBlanc, Derek Russo and Joshua Romero. Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy LeBlanc, Scott “Bubba” LeBlanc, Kenneth Dugas and Teagan Bourque.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. George Cousin, Dr. Carl Ditch, the staff of Iberia Medical Center, and to the staff of Heart of Hospice for their care and compassion shown.
