Roy Edward Steele Sr.

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Roy Edward Steele, Sr., age 81, at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Rev. Roland Fontenot officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Wednesday until service time.

A native of Crestview, FL and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Steele passed away at 11:32 am on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Iberia Medical Center.

Mr. Steele was employed by Marathon oil for many years. He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time outdoors. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather whom will be missed dearly by his family.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Armine Babin Steele of New Iberia; one daughter, Leonda Steele of New Iberia; two sons, Williard Jay Steele and wife Rachel and Roy Edward Steele, Jr. and wife Melanie all of New Iberia; four step daughters, Angela Nelson and Rachael Broussard of Houston; Desiree Broussard of New Iberia and Remi Randazzo of St. Martinville; six grandchildren, Kamin Hess; Bryson Garcia; Raquel Cormier; Jacob Steele; Beau Derouen and Ryan Derouen; five great grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren and one sister, Eunice Steel of Mobile, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay C. and Irene Davis Steele; one sister, Leona Clarke and five brothers, Raymond Steele; Wendill Steele; Randall Steele; Robert Steele and Charles Steele.

Pallbearers will be Kamin Hess, Bryson Garcia, Jacob Steele, Matthew Randazzo, Chase Randazzo and Jake Meyers.
