Sarah Vice Breaux

Sarah Vice Breaux, a cherished matriarch to her beloved family, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center at the age of 78. She was surrounded by loved ones who will forever hold her in their hearts.

Sarah was born on November 22, 1945, in Delcambre, Louisiana, and throughout her life, she embraced her Cajun heritage with pride. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Joseph "Gus" Breaux, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage filled with love and togetherness. Their bond was inseparable, whether enjoying camping trips, dancing, tending to their yard, or creating lasting memories around the holiday table with Sarah's renowned gumbo.

Her passing leaves a profound void for her family, but they take solace in the memories they shared and the legacy she leaves behind.

Sarah will be remembered dearly by her children: Jacqueline "Cookie" Breaux, Timothy Breaux (Sherry), Gwendolyn Breaux (Paul), Mallory Breaux (Kristi), Jessica Case (Ryan), Dewanna Louviere, and Joseph "Sonny" Breaux, Jr. (Sandra). She was also a loving grandmother to Khandi Seago (Colby), Alexis Breaux, Isabella Breaux, Kristian Harvard (Johnnie), Kennedy Broussard (Logan), Ian Breaux, Courtni Case, Tyler Louviere (Yifan), Tori Louviere Rothchild (Andrew), Kristin Breaux, and Casey Breaux Carriere (Tyler), and she cherished her 14 great-grandchildren. Sarah is also survived by her siblings.

Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Breaux, her grandson Dillon Breaux, and her siblings.

A gathering of family and friends to honor Sarah's life will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 12:00 noon until 9:00 pm. The Men's Rosary Group will lead the recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 pm.
