Terri Derouen Huval

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Alvin J. “Brud” Huval, the former Terri Derouen, age 64, at 1:00 pm Monday, August 4, 2014 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Deacon Theo Landry officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Monday until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Terri passed away at 7:40 pm on, Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Maison de Lafayette.

Terri enjoyed shooting pool, traveling, camping and fishing with her husband. She will be missed dearly by her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Alvin J. “Brud” Huval of Coteau; two sisters, Patsy Helms of Bullard, TX and Gail Duncan of New Iberia; her “ daughter like” niece, Kim Clolinger; two nieces Tammy Vaughan of Bullard, TX and Carolyn Ingram of Quitman, TX and one nephew, Joey Helms of Flint, TX; step son, Scott Derouen and wife Christi of Coteau; six step grandchildren, Dustin Derouen, Amanda Derouen, Brennan Derouen, Braylee Derouen, Nick Rowan and Macie Rowan and her in-laws, Lawrence and Una Hulin Huval of Coteau..

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lelies “LJ” and Elsie Savoie Derouen.

Pallbearers will be Scott Derouen, Dustin Derouen, Kevin Wagoner, Joey Helms, Freddie Vaughan, Corey Ingram, Willie Ingram, Justin Vaughan and Matt Vaughan.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Joseph Hospice, 1003 Hugh Wallis Road-Lafayette, LA 70508.
