Ulysse “Brud” Alleman Jr., age 66, passed away on January 7, 2026, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, Louisiana. He was born on December 14, 1959, in Erath, Louisiana, and was a longtime resident of Coteau, Louisiana.
Brud was a simple man who loved the country life and took pride in honest, hardworking days. He was the owner and operator of Alleman Plumbing, which he founded in 1996, and had only recently retired after many years of dedicated service to his community. In his spare time, Brud enjoyed collecting classic cars, with his all-time favorite being the 1961 Impala.
Above all else, Brud loved his family deeply. He was especially devoted to his wife, Donna, and cherished his grandchildren more than anything in this world. He will be truly and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Brud is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Donna Engeron Alleman; his brother, Eugene Alleman, Sr.; his sisters, Barbara Alleman, Amanda Krause (Keith), and Julia Honeycutt (Robert); his grandchildren, Brooksie Alleman, Peyton Alleman, and Bragen Richard; and his step-father-in-law, James Schaubert, Sr.
He was preceded in death by his son, Toddy Alleman; his father, Ulysse Alleman, Sr.; his adoptive mother, Sophie Segura Alleman; his maternal grandparents, Harrison and Julia Segura; his paternal grandparents, Andrus and Neola Bourque Alleman; his mother-in-law, Yvonne Schaubert; and his father-in-law, Anthony Engeron.
Pallbearers will be Keith Krause, Dustin Dore, Chad Duhon, Mike Antoine, Sonny Verret, Robert Honeycutt, Peyton Alleman, and Bragen Richard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 2409 Coteau Road, New Iberia, Louisiana, with Rev. Anslem Odofum officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home in New Iberia on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary being prayed by the Men’s Rosary Group at 6:00 p.m.
Visitation will continue Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. until the service time.
