Mr. Allen was born on September 30, 1970 in Charlotte, NC– the son of Norman and Greta Allen.
Anthony dedicated 23 years to serving in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 2011.
He held the position of Master’s Sonar Technician and served as an instructor. Throughout his career, he received numerous accolades, including the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy Arctic Service Ribbon, Expert Pistol Shot Medal, and the Enlisted Submarine Warfare Insignia. Anthony served his time on the USS Pargo (SSN 650), the USS La Jolla (SSN 701), the USS San Juan (SSN 751), the USS Seawolf (SSN 575), and the USS Texas (SSN 775).
Anthony was a brave, selfless, and kind-hearted man who would go out of his way to help anyone in need. He was full of humor, wit, and love– his spirit radiated vibrancy. His main focus in life was to spread positivity– whether it was to his shipmates, his close friends, or to his family.
He was passionate about fantasy football and a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed playing video games, visiting the beach and the movie theater, listening to music, and having fun (often leading to some good-natured embarrassment for his daughters). He liked going bowling, cherished rainy days, and, above all, Anthony treasured the time spent with his family and his grand-dogs, Betsy and Casper.
Mr. Allen is survived by his daughters Peyton Allen and Sydney Allen, and his son Jonathan Kennedy. He also leaves behind multiple siblings, Teresa Smith, Nicholas (Denver) Sibley, Norman Sibley, Sherry Bullard, Ricky Perez, Debi Biffert, and Julie Arp. He was predeceased by his sister, Dottie Hartley and his brother, Bruce Sibley.
