Diane L. Harbeck, 79, of Waterford, passed away Thursday, Mar. 30, 2023, at New London Rehabilitation and Care in Waterford. Diane was born Oct. 22, 1943, in New London, CT, to Joseph and Pauline (Banta) Michaud who have both predeceased her. She was the beloved wife of Robert “Bob” Harbeck who predeceased her. They were married Aug. 10, 1974.
She is survived by her children, Laurie Kerp, Michelle (Felice) Orlando and Robert Harbeck III; and her grandchildren: Gabby Orlando, Frankie Orlando and Bella Dauda. The family thanks the caretakers at New London Rehab and Care, Bayview Health Care, Bacon and Hinkley Home, Leeann MacDonald-Christie, Sarah Gager and her cousin Clarice Andrade, for providing exceptional care at the end of her life.
Diane worked for many years in New London county, for many attorneys, as a paralegal. She was known as an incredible artist, amazing baker and loved gardening. Diane loved all animals, especially birds. She had a sense of adventure and was always off doing fun things with her family. She loved her grandchildren more than anything.
Burial at St. Mary Cemetery, New London, will be held privately.
