

Waterford- Eleanor L. “Pat” Chapman, 98, peacefully died Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at her home in Waterford. Mrs. Chapman was born on September 21, 1916 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Frederick and Bertha Lawlor. She married Roland F. Chapman Sr. on February 6, 1943 and they were happily married for 44 years. He passed away on June 20, 1987. She was also predeceased by her sister Madeleine Sollers.
Mrs. Chapman is survived by her son Roland F. Chapman Jr. of Arizona, daughters Madeleine Hill of Norwich and Katharine Hanson of Waterford, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Chapman was a parishioner of Saint Paul Church in Waterford since 1962. She was a very avid fan of the Boston Red Sox attending many games at Fenway Park. Pat was also a season ticket holder for both the UCONN and Mohegan Sun Women’s Basketball Teams. She was always there to cheer them on. Late in life Pat was able to travel and visited many countries throughout the world. For many years Pat was an active member at the Waterford Senior Center, singing in the Senior Choir and playing cards in the Pinochle Club. Being fit was also important to Pat. She attended senior exercise classes in Waterford 5 days a week, doing aerobics and strength training. She will be missed by her extended family and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 27, 2014 at 12:00pm in St. Paul Church in Waterford. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
