He was born on July 8, 1954, in New London, the son of Harold W. Smeeton, Sr., and Edith Mae Phelps Smeeton.
Floyd was the widower of Victoria J. Smeeton.
He enjoyed photography, gardening in his backyard, traveling with his wife and enjoyed his cats. He was a graduate of New London High School.
A graveside service will be held at Jordan Cemetery, Waterford at a later date that will be announced.
