Waterford — John C. Smolenski Jr., “Smo” to his friends, 58, of Boston Post Road, died Aug. 7, 2023, at his residence with his family by his side. Mr. Smolenski was born Sept. 19, 1964, in New London, the son of John and Diane (Hopley) Smolenski.
He was a wonderful husband, father and especially grandfather. He loved his family like no other. He worked for Lowe’s Plainfield warehouse for the last 18 years and was a credit to his job.
Mr. Smolenski is survived by his loving wife Katie; son Nick Grant; daughters, Kayla Bryan and Mariah LeBlanc; as well as four grandchildren.
