Len was born in New London, CT and spent most of his life in southeastern Connecticut. He and his wife Gaida lived in Waterford for the past 42 years where they raised their daughter and spent many happy days with their two grandchildren.
Len attended St. Mary’s School and New London High School before serving in the United States Army. He enlisted and served three tours in Vietnam. Upon returning to Connecticut, he graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Psychology.
Throughout his life, Len always enjoyed working with people. He had a special gift for listening and connecting, and for offering solid advice without telling people what to do. After college, he worked for the Nu-Trend group home for troubled youth. He then worked for Volkswagen of Groton, developing a loyal customer base and making life-long friends. Len then worked in Connecticut and New York as the Vice-President of Weymouth Enterprises, owner of business schools. In this capacity, Len helped to improve the lives of many young people by creating job-training programs and making sure they were prepared for the work force. Later in his career, Len worked for and retired from Secor Auto Center in New London as the finance manager.
From the time he was young, Len had the desire to travel and see the world. While in the Army, he was able to visit Japan, the Philippines and Australia. Len would also join his wife Gaida when she travelled for her job at Pfizer, always ready for an adventure anywhere in the world. Len and Gaida spent time in Africa, India, South America, and Europe, making friends and memories along the way.
Len was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed diving, boating, hunting, and cycling. Whether he was on a hunting trip with a friend or boating with his family, Len always enjoyed being outside. He was also an avid cyclist, enjoying both road cycling and mountain biking. He had the distinction of being the older guy who could keep up with the 20-year-olds in a group ride. He passed on his love of the outdoors by hiking, boating, and having adventures with his daughter and grandchildren.
Len is survived by his wife Gaida of Waterford, CT and his daughter Lindsey Weber, her husband Michael, and their children Jack and Wren of Longmeadow, MA.
He is also survived by his brother Don Fuller and wife Pam of Waterford, CT; sister Helen Arner and husband Ron of Waterford, CT; sister Donna Ray of Groton, CT; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Len will be remembered at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s Church in New London, CT at 10:00a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023. Interment will be private.
