She was born on March 30, 1935, in New London, the daughter of Michael Barca and Grace DiMaggio Barca.
Mrs. Kowalski graduated from WMI in 1953. She formerly worked at R & J Grocery on Truman St. with her brother Frank. She was employed for 20 years as a dispatcher at McCarthy Oil.
She is survived by her husband Stephen Kowalski; her sons Stephen Kowalski and his wife Bonnie of Waterford, and Scott Kowalski and his wife Betsy of Lyme; her sister Virginia Tudisca of New London; her grandchildren Jennifer Kowalski and Brandy Simonds; and her great grandchildren Brionna and Matthew Simonds. She was predeceased by her brother Frank Barca.
