

Paul D. Tomczyk, a true renaissance man, passed away at home, at the age of 67, on February 16, 2025, with his family by his side. Paul was born in Norwich, CT on February 10, 1958. Paul lived a life full of adventure, voracious reading, learning, and a deep appreciation for nature, family, and friends. He retired from the city of Norwich Department of Public Works.
He was the son of the late John J. Tomczyk and Gwendolyn Tomczyk McMahon. Also predeceased by his nephew Jonathan Graves.
Paul was known for his many hobbies and passions that ranged from fishing and hunting to woodworking, gardening,and clamming. He especially cherished harvesting oysters with his good friend Marty, and nothing gave him more joy than spending time outdoors. September was a month he looked forward to every year as he relished the experience of driving his 4Runner along the Rhode Island beaches, a tradition that brought him peace and contentment.
Above all, Paul treasured time spent with loved ones. He made fond memories visiting Virginia with his sister Karin, to see his brother Jack and sister in law, Eleanor. Those trips were marked by laughter, shared stories, and deep familial bond.
A man of many talents, Paul will be remembered for his resourcefulness, his love of the land and his ability to appreciate the simple pleasures of life. He leaves behind a legacy of joy, hard work, and a deep connection to both family and nature.
Paul is survived by his loving wife Kelli Antoniac, stepson Ben Antoniac; sister Karin Thompson and her husband Jack of Norwich, brother John Tomczyk and his wife Eleanor of Virginia; brother in law John Graves and his wife Mishelle of Oakdale; nephew Michael Graves and his wife Joanna of North Stonington; nephews Nicholas Thompson and wife Terumi of California, and Eric Thompson and wife Katy Kent of Vermont; nieces Kimberly Tomczyk of New York and Crystal German of the state of Washington.
