Arthur was a man with charisma he could walk in a room and people would just migrate to him. We who worked with him at NYLIC remember how he would stop and talk to everyone even though he kept a tight schedule.  Years after being with NYLIC and with another insurance company. Arthur came to a meeting in CT and when he came into the room 24 years since we last saw each other he walked right through the crowd and stopped, shook my hand and said Hal it is great to see you.  After he gave his talk he ate lunch with me and talked about his love of flying in his glider and much more.  Always a gentleman and one who fits God's will with good works.

Of all the World War II veterans I interviewed for the Times-Picayune, Arthur was way up there in my small bunch of favorites. He was such a forthright, straight-talking man -- even noble, I would say. And what a storyteller! There were times when he left me holding my breath while he spun out the details of one of his wartime experiences. Even if it was one I had heard before. I'm so grateful he was in my life.

I have very fond memories of both of your parents - Toni and Arthur. They are wonderful people and will always be remembered. You are in the prayers of the Coleman family.

Arthur and I served together for many years with NALU and he followed me as President. He had a passion for Toni, his family, the insurance business, his clients, NALU, the United States of America and the aircraft carrier Yorktown from which he flew in the Pacific during WW II. He had 4 official "kills" and one probable, but just missed being credited as an ace. He was one of the best racanteurs I have ever listened to and had a wonderful sense of humor that was never at anyone's expense. He survived many battles in his life, more than most, but never complained. He was a man to be admired and emulated. Knowing he is gone leaves a hole in my life. My deepest sympaties to David, Greg and Paul. He loved you all and never stopped bragging about you.

I am saddened by Arthur's death. He and I worked together in the Louisiana Association of Life Underwriters (now NAIFA Louisiana) for many years. I considered him a good and faithful friend. I greatly admired and respected him. Being with him and Toni over the years was always a joy. I express my deepest sympathy to the family. His was a life well lived and he will be missed by many.
