Belinda Christine Lazaro

Belinda Christine Lazaro, born March 25, 1972, a high spirited New Orleanian has lost her battle of two and a half years with uterine cancer on the feast of the Assumption on Monday. August 15, 2011. Her courage strength and eternal optimism was always evident to everyone around her. Her gratitude and appreciation to everyone involved in her medical care was always graciously acknowledged by her. Many friends have said that she was a light in their lives and was loved by everyone she met every day of her life.

An honor graduate of The Academy of the Holy Angels and Our Lady of Holy Cross College, she went on to a career in Public Relations with Chateau and Royal Sonesta Hotels where her love of people and her social skills brought her success and enjoyment. She was recruited four years ago by Coventry Health Services as Marketing Administration Supervisor. Belinda was an active supporter and Board Member of the LASPCA as well as may organizations in the hospitality industry.

She is the beloved daughter of Sylvia Rousselle Lazaro and Glen (Billy) Lazaro, granddaughter of Mabel Lebouef Rousselle and the late Captain Birney Rousselle, goddaughter of Deborah Rousselle Loyacano and Birney Rousselle, III. She is also survived by her beautiful White Standard Poodle, Monty La Muché

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Belinda’s life at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA on Friday, August 19, 2011 between the hours of 6:00 PM and 10:00 P.M.

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 724 Camp Street, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 1:30 P.M. with visitation at the church beginning at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday.
