

Bruce Joseph Borrello, 80, died on October 7, 2012. He was a resident of Mandeville, LA. Bruce was born in New Orleans on September 19, 1932. He was a graduate of Jesuit High School, Louisiana State University, and Tulane Law School. For 35 years, he practiced law with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, where he oversaw legal defense work and became Regional General Attorney. Between college and law school, he served as a B-47 pilot in the Strategic Air Command of the United States Air Force, where he earned a triple rating as pilot, navigator, and bombardier.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Scheuring Borrello Tank and Joseph Luca Borrello, his infant child Helen Barbara Borrello, his brother Wilben Tank, and his nephew Michael Borrello. He is survived by his daughter, Helen Anna Borrello, son-in-law Ira Berman, granddaughters Polly and Annie Berman, and Helen's mother Gloria McKenzie Borrello, all of Savannah, GA. He is also survived by his brother Joel Borrello; Joel’s children Brian, Donna, David, and Paul Borrello; Donna and David’s spouses Ward Stallings and Debbie Borrello; six great nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law Mary Frances Borrello and Anita Tank. In addition, he is survived by his dear friend Phyllis Spencer and her family. The family is grateful for the care of R.N. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in the Chapel of Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 11:00 am. The visitation will begin at 9:00 am and continue until service time. Interment will follow at Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jesuit High School General Scholarship Fund, 4133 Banks Street, New Orleans, LA 70119.
