Clara Jane Jaubert

Clara Jane Holiday Jaubert passed away from cancer on Thursday, January 27, 2011, at her daughter’s home in Gentilly. She was 84 years old. Clara was the loving wife of Charles Clement Jaubert, M.D., for 63 years. She is survived by her husband and her son, Charles (Chip) Jaubert, Jr., her daughter, Christine Jaubert Carroll, her son-in-law, Hank Cole Carroll, her former daughter-in-law Carol Robichaux Jaubert, her step-granddaughter, Cara Landeche Nicolosi, and her brother, Frank Earl Holiday, Jr. She was the sister-in law of Dixie Stockstill Holiday, Marie Jaubert Villere, Odile Jaubert Cabirac, and the late Francis Leon Jaubert, Jr. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Frank Jaubert, her parents, Frank Earl and Grace Nicholson Holiday, her husband’s parents, Dr. Francis Leon and Albertine Fontan Jaubert.

Clara graduated from McDonough 7 in 1943 and Touro School of Nursing in 1947. She resided in Lumberton, MS, from 1949 to 1955. She lived in Gentilly Terrace from 1955 to the present. She worked as a nurse at Mercy Hospital in the late 70‘s and early 80‘s. She was a member of St. James Major Parish in Gentilly.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Sunday, January 30, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street,New Orleans. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the funeral home on Monday, January 31, 2011, at 1:15 p.m. with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon. Interment will be in St. Louis Cemetery No. 3.
