Dominick Frank Lala

Dominick F. “Brother” Lala, surrounded by his family, peacefully departed this life in the early morning of Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the age of 93. He was the son of the late Anthony Lala and Mamie Carollo Lala. Devoted husband of 66 years, to the late Rita Canizaro Lala, Beloved Brother of Victor Lala, Raymond Lala and the late Anthony Lala and the late Marie Castillion, Dedicated Father of Mamie Lala, Anthony Lala and Mary Rita Lala, Father-in-law of Nancy G. Lala, Loving Grandfather of Shannon L. Coble (Joseph), Karen Foy (Bryan), Gidget Boyd, Missy Darby (Harry), Shawn L. Jemison (Seymour), Tisha M. Musgrave (Cort), Dominick F. Lala II (Bernadette), & Tiffany Valle (Eddie), Great-Grandfather of Kayla Boyd, Derrin Clark, PFC Reed Boyd (fiancé Lauren), Renee Darby, Bryce Darby, Emily Coble, Sophia Jemison, Ian Coble and Sebastian Lala. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a life-long resident of the New Orleans area, Parishioner of St. Maurice Church and St. Luke Catholic Church. He was a longtime truck driver of Kansas City Southern and Citgo. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and spending time with his family at the Lala’s Full House.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be celebrated in the Chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. with visitation beginning at 9:00 A.M.
