

Elizabeth (Betty) Moore Browne died peacefully in her sleep on February 18, 2012 in the company of her husband, John. Betty was born on October 5, 1931 to Milton E. Moore and Julia (Billy) Morgan Moore and lived all of her life in New Orleans. She is survived by her husband of 53 years and their son, Timothy Moore Browne. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Milton Jr. Betty graduated from St. James Major Grammar School, Academy of the Holy Angels and Loyola University College of Business Administration. She was an accountant and payroll clerk for Richards Center until the birth of her son. She was an Associate of the Dominican Sisters of Peace, member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, which presented her with the Golden Rose Award in 2008. A founding member of Resurrection of Our Lord Church, she had served on the Parish Council, and was Co-Chair of Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors. She was telephone chairman of the Altar Society, Life and Lively II, LAOH and New Orleans Rose and Tralee Assn.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Resurrection of Our Lord Church, 9701 Hammond St. at Rosalia on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 12:00 P.M. with Father Michael Joseph Vinh Nguyen, presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements by Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home.
