Gerard John Messina

Gerard John “Jerry” Messina, a waiter at Antoine’s Restaurant for 32 years, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Canon Hospice at the age of 49. Son of the late John J. Messina, Sr. and Shirley Spadafora Messina. He is survived by his brothers, John Messina, Jr., Anthony J. Messina and Michael E. Messina and his nephews, Mitchell A. Messina and Dominic M. Messina. Uncle of the late John Messina, III.

He is also survived by his fiancé of 15years,Carolyn A. Tumminello and her children Stephanie A. Tumminello and Ryan P. Tumminello.

He will be missed by Lucky, Scrappy and Daisy. He was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin Senior High School, Class of 1979. The family gratefully acknowledges the care and support he received from the people of Antoine’s Restaurant, Canon Hospice, East Jefferson General Hospital, Ochsner Foundation Hospital and Parish Pain Specialists.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service from the New Orleans Home of JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal St. at N. Scott; on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 1:15 pm. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until service time. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery.
