

JEAN WHITELY OGLETREE on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, age 42, of anoxic injury to the brain. Beloved daughter of Gail Whitely Perry and the late James Thomas Ogletree III, stepdaughter of Juanita Ogletree and the late Joseph Minos Perry, Jr., granddaughter of the late Earl Braiden Whitely , Anna Netzhammer Whitely, Dorothy Jackson Meek, and James Thomas Ogletree, Jr. Jean was the niece of the late Elmire Whitely Kohler, Lanna Whitely, Brady Whitely, and Carl Whitely. Survived by brother James Thomas Ogletree IV, sisters Caryl Ogletree, Jill Ogletree Mobley, Melissa Kiesey Conowal , aunt Karin Whitely Oaks, uncles Robert Ogletree and Claude Kohler, cousins Antonia Tunis Aleman, Monica Hegedus Iacono, Christina Hegedus, Victoria Crucet, Anna Whitely Vaeth, Jamie Whitely Guichard, Frank Whitely, Scott Whitely, David Whitely, Winter Whitely, Karly Kohler, Kendall Kohler, and Jordan Ogletree. Survived by eight nieces and nephews. Fiancee of the late Robin Lynn Owens. Jean attended and was confirmed at Salem United Church of Christ. As a young girl Jean was presented at the Bienville Club and the Society of the War of 1812. An honor graduate of Ben Franklin H.S. and NOCCA, Jean excelled in Creative Writing. She earned a BA in English Literature from the University of New Orleans, and worked in computers, first as a program trainer and later as a designer of computer applications. Jean cherished her dogs and cats: Luther was a long-time favorite. The family wishes to thank Jean's loving friends who have expressed great concern, and the nursing staff at Ochsner/Baptist Hospital.
