Jeanne was born in 1937 and raised in the 9th Ward of New Orleans and graduated from Rabouin High School. Very popular during her teenage years, her most cherished moments were those she enjoyed with family and friends. In 1957 during the local filming of King Creole, she met Elvis Presley and accepted a dinner date from the King of Rock & Roll. She later married her friend and soulmate Herbert and together they raised their beautiful family within the rich culture and traditions of New Orleans. Jeanne worked for many years as secretary to Drs Farris, Dildy, VonAhlmen, and Bethea in the Baptist Hospital corridor on Napoleon Avenue. Her favorite hobby was her vast collection of family photographs. But perhaps the most revealing picture would be that of her heart. In addition to her unending love, support, and unselfish caring for family members and her beloved Anna, Josie, and Pedro, she was a regular supporter of such humane causes as the Little Sisters Of The Poor, American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, SPCA, and PETA. Family and friends are invited to the visitation on Wednesday, December 1st at 11:00 AM at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, New Orleans; followed with a Funeral Mass at 1:00 PM in the chapel at Jacob Schoen.
