Joseph Edgar Meyer Jr.

Joseph, husband of Sandra Corbin Meyer, died early on the morning of March 8, 2011. He was the son of the late Joseph and Juliette Meyer and the brother of Francis Meyer and the late Joan Meyer Morais, Joe is survived by Sandra, his wife of fifty years, his children and their spouses: Joe (Peggy); John (Kathleen); Aline Meyer Harbison; Denise Kraemer (Tom); Chris (Stephanie); David (Chanrina). “Papa” loved his fifteen grandchildren and cherished his time with them. Joe graduated from Loyola and LSU and was employed for over thirty years at CYTEC. His career as a chemist allowed him to share his talents with others. From taking Sunday adventures with his children to traveling to the Smoky Mountains with his wife, Joe relished life! And while he supported the New Orleans Saints, he esteemed the heavenly saints more. He was a long time member of the Curisillo movement and a leader in the TEC community. Joe and Sandra have been members of St. Mary Magdalene Church in Metairie for forty-three years.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a wake and Rosary from the New Orleans Home of JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal St. at N. Scott; on Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Hope Mausoleum. Condolences may be expressed online at www.schoencanalstreet.com.
