Jules Sonny Richard Walsh

Jules "Sonny" Walsh passed away on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011 at the age of 72. He is survived by his siblings John "Jack" Walsh, Kathleen Walsh O'Donnell (Harold), Richard Walsh (Jose), Maura Walsh Donahue (Jack), and Kevin Walsh. He is also survived by 20 nieces and nephews along with 41 great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John E Walsh, Sr. and Louise Dazet Walsh, his brother, William G. Walsh, and his sister, Mary Walsh Webb.

Sonny was a graduate of Sacred Heart of Jesus High School and attended Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. He retired from his career with Entergy in 1995 and became an avid volunteer for Our Lady of the Holy Rosary where he was awarded the Order of St. Louis Medal in 2004.

Sonny was a kind, loving, generous man who had a deep faith in God and a love of his family and friends. He never met a person he did not like and will be deeply missed by all. He will remain in our hearts always.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend the Funeral Services on Friday, May 6th at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home at 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 immediately followed by a Funeral Mass at Schoen's at 11 o'clock. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's #2 Cemetery on City Park Avenue.
