

Louis F. Beaulieu, age 88, passed away at Noon on Thursday, July 12, 2012. Born in New Orleans and living the past 27 years in Kenner with his wife of 64 years, Ramona Selle Beaulieu. He was a parishioner of St. Philip Neri Church. He is survived by daughters, Jean Maurin (David) and Carol Descant (Denny); grandchildren, Jason Maurin (Kellie), Rachel Cordone (Michael), Amy Bonnaffons (William) and Christopher Descant (Jody) and four great grandchildren. He is survived by brothers, Clifford Beaulieu (Marie), Ronald Beaulieu (Pat and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Sterling and Peter Beaulieu and parents, Robert and Clara Prattini Beaulieu.
Louie joined the Navy at the age of 16. A World War II Veteran, he served in the Pacific Zone on the USS Schubert and survived an “overboard” order given when the ship was attacked by the Japanese. He was then on the USS Hamul for the duration – a Navy Man at Heart.
A plumber by trade, he retired from the Algiers Naval Base as Superintendant of Public Works. He always has a story to tell, loved to garden and traveled the 48 states. He was a proud grandfather and never missed a band concert, baseball game, swim meet or talent show or any event in which his four grandchildren participated in. He was always there to help when needed. He will be missed by his little buddy, Jackson, and his furry companion, Penny.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be celebrated in the Chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street on Monday, July 16, 1012 at 12:30 P.M. with visitation at the funeral home beginning at 10:30 A.M.
