Marguerite Enola Bauer

She was born June 4, 1929, in New Orleans to Frank and Sadie Schaefer. Enola is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Bauer, Sr., and her two brothers, Frank Schaefer, Jr. and Warren Schaefer. She is survived by her three children: Susan Johanson (Jay), Alvin Bauer Jr. and Gary Bauer, Sr. (Robin). She was a loving grandmother to her five grandchildren, who adored her: Melanie Johanson, Stephanie Johanson, Gary Bauer, Jr., Evan Bauer, and Addison Bauer. She had a wonderful smile and a kind heart, and everyone who met her felt great affection for her. Enola lived her whole life in New Orleans, until displaced by the hurricane in 2005. She enjoyed square dancing, cooking for her family, gardening, and her Bible study group. She was loved by the extended families of her married children. Enola especially loved to pass time with her grandchildren, feeding the ducks in City Park and other outings and vacations. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Enola’s life at the following services: A Wake will be held Sunday, Dec. 5th, from 7 to 9 pm at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home on Canal Street in New Orleans. On Monday, December 6, 2010, visitation will be from 9 to 10 am, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in the chapel at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, followed by the 11:00 am interment at Greenwood Cemetery.
