Rita Pauline LaCava

Rita Pauline Dennis LaCava passed away quietly on Monday, January 24, 2011 with her Daughter-in-Law Judy by her side. She was 89. Daughter of the late Ferdinand (Flander) Dennis and Odile Yuratich. Loving wife of the late Salvador F. LaCava and sister to the late Milton Dennis. She is survived by her son and daughter Gregory LaCava and Donna LaCava Smith. Three grandchildren, Stacy LaCava Gilson, Brett LaCava and Ashley LaCava Lotz and three great-grandchildren Daniel, Claire and Dillon Lotz. Also by a sister Mae Rose Dennis Prestenbach and two brothers F.J. and Errol Dennis. A Native of Delacroiux Island she resided in Chalmette relocating to Baton Rouge after Katrina. She worked as a OS & D clerk at Johnson Motor Line for many years but later followed her passion as a Professional Seamstress and Sewing instructor holding classes at most of the major fabric stores through out the New Orleans Area. Family and friends are invited to the visitation Monday, January 31st, beginning at 10:00AM with a Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans.
