I know the angels in heaven are having fun. That's the way I remember Ms.Shirley when I worked with her at Sears. I still have a picture of the two of us taken at the annual Halloween party dressed in our customes. One of the very few that survived Katrina. Laura Kelly Kreeger Slidell La.

Larry and Sandra,
My deepest sympathies to you and your family on the loss of your mother.  She was always full of life, laughter and lots of stories.  I'll miss her smile and her cutting up about her long name: Shirley Helen Mary Deseamus Gerdes which she proudly announced at get togethers.  Brandi and Lacey, your grandmother was so very proud of you two and carried lots of photos with her to share with us.  Your family is in my prayers.

Ms. Shirley was def an angel on earth.  She always knew how to make you laugh or smile or just give encouraging words when you needed it most.  I know that she is looking down and smiling now that shes home.  I know that its an exceptionally difficult time for Lacey, Ms. Becky, Mr. Larry and Brandi, but we know how much she loved you guys and how much you will miss her.  Hang in there thoughts and prayers are with you all and I am here if you need anything.

Your mother was indeed a person who loved life and always had a smile on her face.  She always brought "sunshine" to everyone. The many fond memories I have of your Mom at St. Maria Goretti will always be cherished in my heart.  My prayers are with you and your family during this time of sorrow.

I remember her fondly from, among other things, the yearly seafood boils @ NERA that she, Nellie, their mom, and the rest of the family came to. I can picture them now upstairs enjoying some good boiled shrimp and a cold beer. I will keep her, you, and your family in my prayers.

Sandi and Larry, so sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. We worked together for a long time and I really enjoyed her company and sense of humor. I remember when she and (Sandi) came to see me at the stables on mopeds. I couldn't stop laughing. She will surely be missed! Julie from Sears.
