

FREDERICK H. COLEMAN, a long time New York textile industry executive and New Rochelle resident passed December 27th, at the age of 90. Mr. Coleman was for over 40 years a senior executive with APSCO Fabrics and its predecessor AP Silk. Prior to that he was associated with Kohn-Hall-Marx, a division of United Merchants. Coleman was 1939 graduate of Townsend Harris High School, a 1943 graduate of City College of New York, and later attended Columbia University Graduate School. He served in the United States Army in Europe during World War II in the Field Artillery Observation Corps, landing at Utah Beach four days after D-Day and ending the war in Germany. At age 15, he was one of two students awarded a trip to Japan by the Imperial Government , where he established a lifelong love of Japanese culture, making annual trips over the course of his business career. A trustree of Temple Israel New Rochelle, he is survived by his wife Claire and sons Franklin (Antoinette) of McLean, VA and Elliot (Patrice) of Bedford and five grandchildren Samuel, Daniel, Benjamin, Abigail, and Aiden. Funeral services will be held at Temple Israel, Tuesday 10 AM.
